Place Value
Math Standard
In fourth grade, students increase their understanding of large whole numbers up to millions and practice identifying the value of a given digit in seven-digit numerals. They learn to order and compare large numbers and become familiar with multiple ways to represent whole numbers. This includes using base blocks, standard, expanded, and word form.

Base Blocks - Base blocks consist of individual "units," "longs," "flats," and "blocks" (ten of each set for base 10). They can be used to show place value for numbers and to increase understanding of addition and subtraction algorithms.
